The Queensland Technical Excellence Network (QTEN), operated by Emjay Technologies Pty Ltd (ABN 99 683 863 425), is committed to protecting the privacy of individuals in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
This Statement explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose personal information in connection with operating the QTEN network and website.
From website visitors and enquirers: name, email address, phone number, and the content of enquiries submitted via our contact form. IP addresses are collected for security and rate-limiting purposes only.
From network members: name, professional title, qualifications, specialisations, employment history, contact details, LinkedIn profile, ABN/business details, professional indemnity and liability insurance details, rate cards, and capability statements.
Automatically: server logs including IP address, browser type, and pages visited. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party analytics platforms.
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for marketing purposes.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational security measures including encrypted HTTPS connections, hashed password storage, session security controls, and access controls. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of data transmitted over the internet.
In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by law. Member account data is retained while membership is active and for seven (7) years thereafter for business records purposes. Enquiry data is retained for two (2) years.
